WATER is essential - let's not mess it up

It is the most needed liquid for humans - and for all of life.

Healthy Drinking Water initiative with Ecological Projects

It’s clear that plastic bottles are a big problem for society. They are slow to naturally degrade and an unnecessary amount of energy and water is spent during their manufacture. Greenhouse gases are released and up to 3 liters of water are spent to produce a single bottle that will only contain 1 liter of the same liquid.

Every year 280 million tons of plastic are thrown away, a large part ends up in the sea. Americans add 30 million PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) water bottles to landfills every day!

The increase in global consumption and discard of single use plastic products over the past decades (ironically a matching timeline with outdoor industry growth) has now created an alarming amount of refuse and dispersed plastic “trash” in our oceans. If we continue to use and discard plastic products at our current rate “by 2050, the oceans will contain more plastic than fish by weight”, causing irreparable damage to the ocean ecosystems – and consequently all life on earth.

The Revive2SurviveTM program is simple – Save 3 to Drink 3: Each time you use your Laken Bottle (click link to buy from Amazon!) or any other water flask instead of using a single use plastic bottle, you are saving 3 liters of water and tipping the scale towards plastic free oceans and a healthy planet. 3 liters is also the recommended amount of water for the average adult living in a moderately hot climate! It’s a win-win-win!

This initiative has as its goal to keep 250,000 single use bottles out of the system.

Sign the Pledge & Share where you Revive! Each time you share to Instagram, Facebook or Twitter a picture of you drinking from your Laken #slakinwithlaken or other reusable water bottle with the #Revive2Survive #stop1Xplastic – we will count it towards the goal!
